Emergency Support Services

ESS can provide services for 72 hours when people are forced from home by fire, flood, or earthquakes. It only responds to
emergencies by request, usually from the Fire Department and through Dispatch.

Denman Island ESS is part of the Comox Valley Emergency Program of the CV Regional District.

The Homelessness Services Association of BC (HSABC) does a Homeless Count every year, usually in early Feb-Mar. Volunteers needed. Homeless people on Denman should participate in the anonymous survey.

Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre has a branch in Nanaimo. IDHHC employs registered Audiologists and certified Communication Health Assistants. The Hearing Health Services team members bring a wide range of expertise and knowledge to provide client-centred services.
