About yesteryear, today, last week, and tomorrow
Our island has two newspapers, two very active bulletin boards on Facebook, and a museum. Word-of-mouth is very strong too, and the freshest local news is always at the General Store, Abraxas Books and Gifts, and The Guesthouse Bistro.
The web
Facebook’s “Denman Island Open Bulletin Board (Taystayic)” has upwards of 1900 members, and the “Denman Island Bulletin Board”
(a private group) has upwards of 2,700, reaching residents and non-residents. Membership is approved by administrators.
Many island organizations and groups have websites and / or Facebook pages – see Organizations and Groups
Newspapers
Our two papers are distributed free to all mailboxes and several retail outlets; they carry advertising and event calendars.
